Applications for Junior Road and Track Programme Close on 17th December

Those eligible to apply are those who will be first and second year Junior’s in 2016, male and female.

 

Over the last number of years Cycling Ireland have progressed a good number of young talented riders though the high performance system. The Junior squad provides the challenges and tools to succeed through this pathway. It is a major area of focus for CI.  Key areas of technical, tactical and physical attributes are all worked on and further developed with the ultimate goal of producing World class competitors. Junior squad riders are developed in both Road and Track disciplines

 

Cycling Ireland would like juniors with proven performances, a drive to develop, openness to advice and ambition to succeed to apply via application for selection to the junior squad.

 

Key area’s provided for;

  • High level coaching support
  • Skills to manage training and education together
  • Learning to manage expectations and deliver performances at key events
  • Individual and team orientated goals
  • Exposure to international competition
  • Learning to excel in a high performance environment

 

There will be a number of training camps throughout the early part of the season that fit in with school and college holidays, along with some weekends followed by the key pre-Competition camp during the summer holidays.

Closing date for applications is December 17.

Squad announcement will be made in early January.
