Two leisure events in Ulster this weekend.
 
South Down Leisure Cycle - Saturday 10th September
This is the 15th annual cycle event to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care. although not a Cycling Ireland event it has always been well supported by Cycling Ulster riders. Last year the event attracted 455 cyclists, over 25% of whom were women, and it raised around £20,000.

There are 3 routes all well marshalled and sign posted:

Registration and finish point for all routes is Downpatrick Racecourse, 24 Ballyduggan Road Downpatrick, Co Down. Registration is between 9.00 a.m. - 11.00 a.m.

30km from Downpatrick Racecourse to Killough and Downpatrick and back to the Racecourse.

50km circular route taking in some of the most beautiful countryside in South Down from Downpatrick through Killough, Ardglass, Strangford back through Downpatrick town and finishing at Downpatrick Racecourse.

80km is an extension of the 50km route.

Lunch is provided for all routes in Killough village and refreshments at the finish in Downpatrick Racecourse.

Entry fee is £10 and cyclists are encouraged to raise sponsorship if they can.

Tour of Omagh Sportive - Sunday 11th September
This event offers 3 routes covering 25, 50 and 75 miles. Sign-on at Youth Sport Omagh from 9am with riders rolling out at 10am. More info visit www.omaghwheelers.com
